We have had loads of eventful and exciting news at Peek-a-boo Designs over the past few days including:

-our New October release of stamps, dies, stencils & washi tapes
(for more info, you can click here & here)

- Crafty Challenges that give you a chance to win more PABD goodies!
(to get more info, you can click here & here)

Today, I’d like to share with you a couple of projects.

1. CAS Diwali Card

This is a Clean & Simple A2 sized, top folding card.

Process:

- Die cut white cardstock using the stitched scalloped rectangle die. Then colored the scalloped frame with Fossilized Amber & Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides

- On the card base, masked off the edges and applied distress oxides through the Dimensional Stencil

- Stamped the beautiful fish from the new Madhubani Stamp on Canson Watercolor paper & colored it in with zig markers, then fussy cut it.

- Stamped the sentiment from the Diwali Greetings Stamp set onto a strip of watercolor paper & then colored in the strip with zigs and an aqua brush.

- To assemble the card, adhered the frame at a tilted angle onto the cardbase, also adhered the sentiment strip within the frame and then foam mounted the fish in the center, to add texture added a few gold strings under the fish to make it pop.

- In the end, adhered a few gold colored sequins for some sparkle

2. Mixed Media Layout- Beauty in Simplicity
(Challenge Inspiration)

These are some close-up photos of the layout:

I wanted to depict the beauty in simple things and the delicate image of a girl smelling the scent of pretty flowers really spoke to me, so I decided to create a Mixed Media Layout around it.

Process:

- Prepared the white cardstock base (12 by 12 inches) by applying white gesso

- Added strips of the pretty new washi tape-Blue Blossom onto the background to create a pattern and then applied a wash of white gesso over it so that I could do watercoloring over the top in some areas

- Stamped on the pretty flowers from the Floral Fantasy Stamp in the background using black archival ink (since it is a permanent ink that that doesn’t run when dry- I knew I wanted to do watercoloring later)

- Used the Dimensional stencil and added some background stenciling with black archival ink

- Stamped flowers from the gorgeous new Pretty Roses Stamp set & colored them in with watercolors, then fussy cut the images

- Die cut leaves in black & white using the Dual Leaf die & die cut the lattice using the Graceful Lattice Die

- Did watercoloring in the background (with a blue, yellow & green) and also colored some gauze

- Adhered the photo to some blue pattern paper and stuck the frame from the Scalloped Rectangle die on the photo to make the image pop

- To assemble the layout, I created layers using the fussy cut images, die cuts, pretty & delicate lace, flowers, gauze & a metal embellishment (which was colored with inka gold)

- In the end, added a few sticker sentiments, a few gems for some sparkle and created a little blue & white splatter

Crafting Fun with LeeAnn

Greetings friends and fellow crafters, LeeAnn here with three projects I have made using new stamp sets from Peek A Boo Designs. I have to say I love this release and it was really hard figuring out what to use for my first post.

For this first project, I used Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio and Broken China and smooched them on my craft mat. I then spritzed with water and ran my watercolor card-stock through the inky fun. I set the page aside to dry.
I then used Memento Markers in Ladybug, Cantaloupe and Dandelion to color my flowers. The stems are colored using Cottage Ivy Dew Drop and a Fantastix.
I cut the watercolor panel to  3.75" x 5", mounted that on a white panel cut 4" x 5.25" and mounted those on a Kraft a2 card base using Tear tape. The flower stamp was cut using my Scan N Cut and mounted with foam tape for added dimension.

My next project also began with Distress Oxides, in the colors Cracked Pistachio and Broken China. Using the same technique as above I smooched the inks on my craft mat, spritzed with water and ran the card-stock through. I wanted it to appear as the green was land and the blue the sky.
The little panda's with Balloons were cut using my Scan N Cut. The balloons were colored using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers from left to right the colors used were LG4, LY1/CT1, FS8, OR1, LV2 and BT6.
The top panda is attached with foam adhesive and Tear Tape on the balloon, while the lower panda is attached with Tear Tape and the balloons with foam adhesive.

This one for last as I had so much fun trying to decide what to do and it was honestly the easiest. The fish are cut with my Scan n Cut, Using the "Rule of Three" I chose to use 3 fish, each colored with the same Memento Tangelo color, just each one colored differently. One is completely colored, one is white with Tangelo highlights while the other is Tangelo with white highlights. The sentiment "Best Wishes" I thought went with this perfectly.
The base is an a2 in white cardstock, with a layer of burnt orange to pull out the Tangelo color cut 4" x 5.25", and the blue marbled is from a Ms. Sparkle & Co. from Joann's paper pack. The bodies of the fish is attached using Tear Tape while the tails are curled up. The sentiment is attached using foam adhesive.

Here's the store link where you can check out our ENTIRE NEW RELEASE. Just click: HERE

Theme: Our Oct 2017 challenge theme is pretty simple.

USE your favorite stamp OR cutting die along with your favorite embellishment.

So easy, what say?

To further help you out, let's check out the fabulous inspiration by our DT.

Preety Dutt

1. Floral Friendship Card

Process:

For this floral card, she has used the PABD- Rococo Stamp which has gorgeous floral images.
The floral arrangement was stamped onto watercolor paper and then colored in using prisma color pencils.
The background was watercolored using zig markers and an aqua brush.
Then, this panel was die cut using the PABD- Scallop Rectangle die.
For the sentiment, the PABD- Bold You Stamp was used. The word friend was stamped with Versamark Watermark Ink and heat embossed in white onto a strip of black cardstock. The card was assembled by adhering the white scalloped frame to the A2 sized black card base and then the watercolor panel was foam mounted.
Lastly, a strip of PABD Washi Tape - Lovey Dovey was used as an embellishment onto which the sentiment strip was foam mounted.

2. Art Journal Spread: You are Awesome...

Process:

For this Art Journal Spread, she has used an old book, adhering a couple of pages together to lend it strength and then applying a wash of white gesso over the pages to prepare the surface.
After that she has added strips of PABD’s Rainbow Hues and Prickly Cuteness washi tapes to create the pattern.
Next, the gorgeous and traditional animal images from the PABD - Madhubani stamp were stamped onto printer paper and then glued onto the journal using mod podge.
After this was some watercoloring to add blue, green, yellow and black hues where the washi tapes acted as a good resist to the colors.
Towards the edges of the page, stencil work was done using black soot distress ink and the PABD Stencil- Dimensional. Further, the title was stamped using the PABD-Bold You stamp and the smaller sentiments were heat embossed in white onto black strips.
To add more interest, background stamping was done with a few sentiments using black archival ink. Then, some white dots were added using a white gel pen and white acrylic paint.
In the end, black and white splatter was created to bring the whole design together.

Before we move forward to check out her fabulous work, let us hear what she has to say!

"Hello! This is my first post here and I am so excited! I would like to thank Vidushi for giving me an opportunity to work with PABD and also with such an awesome team."

Today she has 2 cards for the October challenge inspiration.

Card #1:

Process:

1) Stamped the cage from the PABD - Floral Cages stamp set and sentiment in black ink.

2) Colored the flowers and leaves using copic markers.

3) Went over the cage with golden gel pen and fussy-cut it.

4) Adhered the PABD - Monochrome Beauty washi tape on an A2 white card and colored it with golden gel pen to match the cage.

5) Lastly, adhered the fussy cut cage and sentiment on the card.

Card #2:

The steps followed in this card are similar to card #1. The only difference is that she has colored the washi tape with golden and red gel pen.

Process:

To make this super cute project, she has used the lovely PABD - Panda Hugs stamp set.
First, she created the background using PABD - Arrows washi tape.
Next she stamped a panda from the panda hugs stamp set, fussy-cut, colored and adhered it to an embossed panel.
After that, she stamped a sentiment from the same set and adhered it to project.
Finished it off with some star sequins and some glossy accents to the balloons and panda eyes.

Halak Shah

Card #1:

Process:

For this project, the gorgeous PABD - Rococo
stamp set has been used with the PABD - Chevron Delight washi tape.
This stamp set makes for a fantastic colored piece.
Added washi tape to the background card panel over which the matted and colored stamped piece was added.
Some brown twine and a sentiment tile finished the piece.

Card #2:

Process:

For ths project the same washi (chevron delight) has been used to act as a frame for the feathers.
The feathers along with the sentiment are from PABD - Feathers stamp set, stamped using distress oxides + archival black ink and some sequins have been added to match the feather colors.
Also, the cardstock in that lovely wine color, is a former release by PABD.

So, this concludes our challenge post. We hope you liked our DT's inspirations and that you will play along!
