October challenge inspiration with Swapna

Hi.. Crafty friends..

Swapna here, today I have 3 cards to share using October release. The release is just awesome. It has product for everyone. Hope you are playing along with our fun filled October challenge. My cards are based on the October challenge theme. Lets just dive in my post.

Card #1

** Used number die cuts n made the background by gluing them in random pattern on a black card panel.
** Die cut number 1 & st with red glitter foam.
** Heat embossed sentiment with white embossing powder.
** Foam mounted panel towards top of card base.
** Glued glitter foam pieces in place to finish the card.

Here is close up of glitter foam the number background.

Card #2

** This is my first attempt in colouring on vellum.
** I stamped & gold heat embossed the image on vellum.
** Used few copics to colour it on back (many have said that colouring directly on heat embossed image will damage copic nibs).
** I didn't feel like taking risk with glueing vellum on card front. So i left 1/2" towards top so that i can fold and glue it behind.
** Heat embossed sentiment with gold embossing powder.
** Added few enamel dots to the card.

Here is close up sentiment and the the coloured flowers.

Card #3

** This was the card which i made when i was struggling with ideas.
** I secured card base n stencil and applied embossing paste.  Left it to dry of its own.
** Sprayed gold shimmer mist from ranger.
** Gold heat embossed two butter flies and fussy cut them out.
** Coloured one butterfly with copics (carefully) and few strokes with gold marker. Glued it on other plain butterfly.
** Heat embossed sentiment on vellum n sandwiched it between two scalloped circles.
** Placed sentiment n butterfly with liquid glue.
** To finish the card added few clear stones towards top n 3 more on butterfly's body.

Here is closeup of butterfly n gold shimmer mist.

Stencil mania by Swapna

Hi... Crafty folks...

Here I am with my first post for this month. We loved to see your active participation in our July challenge and  hope you all are playing along our challenge this month which is  colour inspiration.

Read the rules carefully before linking the project.

Use 3 or more colours from the inspiration picture and link in the challenge post. We would love to see your creations with Peek-a-boo designs for the challenge.

Now coming to my post for the day. I am sharing 3 cards with stencils which released last month. Tried to make Masculine cards which are hard to make (as people say) .

Card #1 -

* I used BOX-tacular stencil.
* I used few distress inks to blend.
* I placed the stencil and blended orange shade colours first then off set the stencil to blend next set of colours.
* Heat embossed the sentiment. Kept the background pretty simple.

Card #2

Men play the role of angel in our life. As father, as brother and as husband then why can't we give them an angle card?

* Its a double fold card.
* I die cut a blue CS with the large stitched oval die and white CS with second largest stitched oval die.
* I placed the white oval on regular card base and blended distress inks very lightly for subtle background.
* Glued the smaller oval die cut on navy blue oval and glued it on open side of the card base. Stamped a fairy in black ink.
* Die cut the word with white and heat embossed it with gold UTEE for more dimension, backed it with black diecut word and glued on the card front.

Card #3

Its a simple one layer card and sneak peek of my next post.

* I liked this stencil but i wanted only little portion of the stencil.
* I selected the area i want on the card, placed it on card front and masked off the remaining area with masking tape/low tacky tape/washi tape.
* Blended distress inks from darker green to yellow.
* Stamped the sentiment with grey ink so that it doesn't over power the leaves.

I hope you liked these cards..

All the supplies are listed bellow.. You can shop for these on Peek-a-boo designs site

Stencil love - 3 cards

Hi... Hello..
Crafty friends... I am Swapna from The Dream Pages

I am Swapna from The Dream Pages, I hope you are playing along this month's challenge which is LAYERS

Hope you are enjoying our blog posts from all fellow DTs. This is my second detail post for this month for PABD and its mainly on STENCILS. Sometimes its tricky to add layers in CAS cards but its fun to challenge yourself to do so. When the post is about stencils then lets talk about these stencils a bit.

These are 8.5*8.5" stencils which allow you to cover larger area so these can be used to make 5*7" cards also and for Mixed media too.

Now coming to my projects

Card 1

I have a small, behind the screen story for this card.
To be frank I was not sure about this card. My fellow Dt Ria have designed this stamp and after July release she asked me 'Did you like Humming blooms' set n particularly bird images? I said liked but I might not do justice with birds so I will use only flourish from the set. Then I thought WHY NOT TRY birds. So decided to make this card.

* My first step was to keep the card base ready, so i took a black top folding card base. I secured the base to my work surface along with stencil. Applied texture paste concentrating towards centre portion of the base. Left it air dry.

* I stamped and coloured the small bird from the set on water colour paper and coloured in rainbow theme. Then fussy cut the image. I used wink of stella for blending colours and to add shimmer to the image

* Heat embossed the custom sentiment on black CS.

* Mounted bird and sentiment with foam tape.

Card 2

I will try my best to explain this card.

* I took 15*7" CS, scored at 5 and 10".

* Partial die cut on each flaps using the stitched oval dies.

* Placed the stencil on one flap and applied SSS lavender ink and on other flap I applied hero arts white pigment ink. While placing the stencil on other flap I made sure the design that the design continues.

* Cut white CS with second large and second small stitched oval die. Stamped image with same SSS ink. Coloured the image with colour pencils. Stamped sentiment with Versafine black onyx ink.

* Glued large oval inside card. Mounted small oval in the front.

Card 3

After doing 2 cards I was thinking to do one more card with our third stencil. Thought to keep it simple.

* Placed the stencil over a white CS. Used two distress inks to blend.

* Trimmed it 0.5 cm on all sides so that it can fit on the card base.

* Stamped the sentiment with black ink. Applied black wink-of-stella for shimmer and Glossy accent for gloss.

* Die cut a heart, applied wink of stella and glossy accent.
