Challenge #12 Inspiration

Hello everyone! It's Juhi with some more inspiration for challenge #12 which is a color challenge.

Create a project with at least 2 colors from this image. Here's what I made
I used the gorgeous Mandala stamp set to create my watercolor cards. I first stamped the mandalas on watercolor paper and colored them in with Gansai Tambi watercolors.  Coloring them was like coloring adult coloring pages, I really enjoyed it!
Go here to enter the challenge, we would love to see what you create!

SIMPLY BACKGROUNDS USING DIFFERENT ELEMENTS

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you three cards that I made using different techniques to create the backgrounds. I love how I can use stencils, die cuts and stamps to change the look of my creations. Take a look of my first card:

This is a Save the Date card. To make this I used the Abstract Triangle Stencil, the Save the Date Stamp and the Heart Butterfly Die Cut. Creating this was very fun:

1. Cut the base of the card using Cajun Craze card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2".
2. Cut a second layer using natural card stock. The size is 4-1/8"x5-3/8".
3. Take the stencil Abstract Triangle, place and secure it over the natural card stock.
4. Spray the free areas of the stencil with Glimmer Mist. I used two different colors from Tattered Angels, Golden Orange and Pink Poodle.
5. Remove the stencil and wash it with water.
6. Stamp the Save the Date image over the decorated layer using VersaFine Onix and Clear Embossing Powder. Melt the powder with the heat tool.
7. Paste the layer over the card base and decorate with a Heart Butterfly Die Cut.

For the background of the second card I used the Messy Background combined with the Scallop Rectangle Die Cuts, Thank You Die Cut and Dual Leaf Die Cut

Creating this was a very simple process:

1. Cut the base of the card using Very Vanilla card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2".
2. Cut a second layer of Very Vanilla card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x5-1/2".
3. Stamp the Messy Background image over the second layer using Kaleidacolor Ink. I used the Tomato Vine Color selection.
4. Paste the second layer directly over the card base.
5. Cut the large scallop rectangle frame using Early Espresso card stock and paste over the card using dimensionals.
6. Cut the Thank You die cut and the Dual Leaf die cut using Gold foil paper.
7. Paste the die cuts over the stamped background and decorate the union of the leafs using an Smoky Quartz Enamel Dot.

The background of my last card was created using only die cuts. For this I used the Swirl Flourish and the Thank You word die cut.

I think this card is very elegant and simple:

1. Cut the base of the card using Basic Black card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2".
2. Cut a second layer using Very Vanilla card stock. The size is 4"x5-1/4".
3. Cut two of each Flourish swirls using real red card stock.
4. Add adhesive to each swirl. If you want you can use the Xyron Sticker Makers.
5. Arrange and paste the swirls over the very vanilla layer.
6. Cut the Thank you word using Basic Black card stock and add the adhesive too.
7. Paste the word over the decorated layer.
8. Paste the decorated layer over the card base.
These are the products that I used for these cards:

Lots of gold and some glitter - October Release Inspiration

Hello everyone! It's Juhi with my second post for October. My first card is a birthday card for my daughter who is turning 5 in December.
Watercolor card with Pee-a-boo stamps and Dies by Juhi
To created the watercolor background, I cut out the number dies on masking paper and stuck them randomly on watercolor paper, leaving some space in the middle for the number '5'.
I then painted the background in pink and orange Gansai Tambi watercolors.
I peeled off the digits once the watercolor dried, some paint did seep under the digits giving the background a beautiful watercolor wash effect! I finally cut out the '5' in gold and stuck it along with some gold thread and sequins and also heat embossed the sentiment in gold.
I hope my daughter likes the card :)

I followed exactly the same process to make the watercolor background of this Thank you card.

Don't you just love the gold against the turquoise? I just love how this one turned out!

I used my favorite "Border Frenzy" die from the month's release. I just can't get enough of this die.....love how it lets you add interest without extra bulk, perfect for CAS cards.
I created the background by stamping the broad stripes from the "It's Plaid Time" set in white followed by red inks. I then added the fancy stitches with the "Border Frenzy" die.
For the glitter heart I used the "Shaker Love" Die.
Well that's it from me for now, I hope you find inspiration in my projects! Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Feathers and Chess Pieces

Hello and good morning dear friends!

I'm Halak and today I have three cards using different color combinations to share with you.

Let's get started!

This one I've created using my favorite stamp set from October release, Chess Pieces. ^__^

The king chess piece is coated in black glitter that sparkles like diamonds in natural light! (What can I say, I absolutely love using glitter!) :P

I've also used the super pretty Abstract Triangle stencil from the October release for some subtle stenciling.

The Scallop Rectangle (larger rectangle) was used to die-cut.

Finished the project with some Enamel Dots and golden thread.

Tip : For projects with a CAS (clean and simple) look, adding thread is great for texture. Apart from thread you can also use, baker's twine, jute strings etc.

Here's a close up :

Let's check out the second project :

Halloween was my color inspiration for this note card.

Purple and orange get along fabulously with Peek-a-boo Designs Wine Cardstock.

This Feathers stamp set is a really good buy because it contains a variety of sentiments that are useful for both, general cards and mixed media projects.

In my project, I've added a few highlights in white to the feather and the circles in the background are created using the Bubbles Stencil as template.

For my third project, I created a card featuring the vibrant fun colors of summer.

Here's the picture :

For this card I used the Scallop Circle (larger circle) die.

The circle on which stamping is done was created using the yellow and green distress inks.

I used a beautiful quote with an assortment of gorgeous feathers from the Feathers stamp set.

Finished the project with a few half-pearls.

Have a lovely day! *Hugs*
