Fun with Inking + Single stamp

Hello all,

Ria on this side. Today I have brought cards made with some inking techniques which I found much interesting to play with.

Technique 1 : Bleaching the Ink
I  will try my best to describe the process step by step :
  • Take a card stock, cut it into a shape as per your choice, I did with a slanting line.
  • Blend distress inks. To create a depth, blend a darker color on the edges.
  • Let the CS dry naturally in open air or heat it with your tool *I did on a gas stove*
  • Stamp an image with the darker distress ink that you use for creating depth, and emboss it with clear embossing powder. Here, I have used Lotus delight stamp.
  • Take a pinch of bleaching powder in a bowl full of water and run the water with a brush on to the images only.
  • Wait for sometime, the bleach will react and will fade the area. It can even make the image completely white.
  • Finish it off with some glitter and sentiments. Here I have taken help of glitter cones and alpha banner stamp set.
      Tips:
  1. Select darker colors for the cardstock so that the bleaching technique will give a contrasting image.
  2. Select smaller images that has an outline only.
  3. Be careful with the bleach.
  4. Do not let the paper soak too much of bleach water as it will eventually make it super white that I guess you would not want to.
This is another color on which I have tried the same design.

Technique 2 : Ink Lifting

  • Blend some dark and bright colors on to a card panel.
  • Stamp some solid designs, I have used the same image set but the solid one here.
  • Emboss it with clear embossing powder.
  • Spray water on the CS and wipe it off. This will give a light image on the left out area.
  • Finish it off with some embellishments and ribbons as it is needed.

Delightful Lotuses!

Hello everyone! It's Juhi with my first post for August. For today's post I'll be sharing 3 cards using the same stamp set, Lotus Delight. This is one of my favorite sets, there are endless possibilities with this set.........so without further ado lets check out the cards...

Card 1:
Card using Peek-a-boo Lotus Delight Lotus stamp set
Totally inspired by Swapna's post about stretching your stamps I used the Lotuses from the Lotus delight set and used them as succulents. The pots are hand drawn, I created the background with gold shimmer washi tape. I'm no artist, but ever since I joined a course on Visual Communication I've let go of my inhibtitions of picking up the pencil and drawing! I know what you are thinking, a flower pot is not really a big deal right? But for me it is :)

Card 2:
For my second card I stamped and the water colored the lotuses with distress inks and drew some leaves to create a lotus pond

Card 3:
For my third and final card I created a night scene with distress inks on watercolor paper, onto which I stamped and heat embossed the lotuses in black.

I had so much fun making these cards, why not create a some gorgeous cards with one stampset and to step up the some fun you could enter this month's Peek-a-boo Challenge and stand a chance to win some awesome goodies.

3 Layered Cards

Hello everyone, its Juhi with my final post for July. Today I'm sharing 3 layered cards keeping with this month's challenge theme - Challenge # 8 - Only...Layers!!! There is still time to play along in case you haven't already done so!
layered stamped card with peek-a-boo designs stamps
For my first layered card I created layers with the Graceful Lattice Die and Rounded Stitched Rectangle Die, I then layered lots of Layered Dahlia blooms on top of it. I love to make stamped CAS cards, so this card is not my usual style but I love how it turned out.

My second card is a one layered card. Instead of adding layers with die cuts I did some masking and layered stamping to create the illusion of depth and perspective.

I did some spotlight stamping and die cutting to create layers in my third card.

I hope my cards have inspired you to create. There is still time to avail a discount of 10% on all the items at the Peek-a-boo Designs website. This discount is valid till 31st of July, 2016.

All you have to do is to apply the Discount Coupon code- JUHI_10

Saalgirah ki shubhkamnaye !!

Hi folks wishing you a bright and sunny morning to all you lovely crafters..

Today I have created a pretty anniversary card using our All Occasions - Hindi stamp set and Lotus delight.

I took a card size of 5-7". And a kraft coloured card stock. I scored the kraft card stock at 1/4" to give it a little texture. I die cut a doily and cut them into half and adhered them to the kraft card stock. I them stamped all the. Three sizes of the outline lotus from the Lotus Delight set. And coloured them and later fussy cut them. Made a desired bunch on one of the halves of the doily and stamped my sentiment from All Occasions - Hindi on a white card stock. Cut that into a banner and coloured the edges red. Pasted some bling here and there to jazz up the card.

Closer  view of the card.

Hope you liked my card.
