Video Tutorial - Mirror Image Stamping

Hello everyone, its Juhi with a video tutorial. Haven't you ever wished that a stamp faced the other way, the image could be cute animal, a flower bunch, a bird....like in this card I wanted to have 2 foxes facing each other.
mirror image stamping
The "Mirror Image" stamp from the September release lets you do just that.
In today's video I'll be showing you how to stamp mirror images using the "Mirror Image" stamp. It's a slightly long video as I wanted to show the process a couple of times so that you understand it clearly. If you'll bear with me till the end of the video I also show ways to cover up stamping goof ups. So grab a cup of coffee and sit back and enjoy!

Peek-Tute Friday with Juhi: Die-cutting with a twist

Hello everyone! It's Juhi. I am so excited to share my first tutorial for Peek-a-boo Designs. The focus of today's tutorial is die-cutting. I will show a fun and easy way to use the tiny negative die cut pieces of the Graceful Lattice die.
Here's the card I created.
I was inspired by this month's challenge theme, which is a color inspiration, you can find the details here.

To make the card:
I started with a piece of watercolor paper painted in colors of the rainbow. I stuck the watercolor panel onto a piece of same sized cardstock with some repositionable glue and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Graceful Lattice Die. The die only cut through the top watercolor paper layer, leaving the bottom cardstock layer intack. Then I peeled off the die-cut watercolor paper leaving the tiny negative pieces stuck on the cardstock panel. I made a start to finish video of how I made this card.
I hope you enjoyed watching the video! This technique will work with most background dies. I would  love for you to have a go at it!

Hello! crafty friends

Hope you are enjoying the work done by our DT members, using July months PEEK-A-BOO designs
As you all know that this month theme is LAYERED PROJECTS..so don't wait and participate in this months challenge..more details HERE
Today I am here with 2 projects
# 1.Tutorial on Altered mini note books
# 2.Altered phone book

PROJECT # 1 Altered mini note books

These note books are very easy to make and you can try them with your basic skill and stuff...So with no further delay lets start...

Note book #1

note book #2

note book #3

note book #4

note book #5

TUTORIAL: Altered mini note book

STEP -1 -First take the measurement of mini note book, that you want to alter.Take a cardstock of your choice (here I have taken black CS) to cover my mini note book.Cut to exact size of your notebook.
STEP -2 Stick this  or cover this black CS on notebook with glue or red tacky tape, press properly on all sides and barnish it. Your cover is ready..now to decorate ....

STEP-3 for 2nd layer take any coloured CS 1/4" smaller than the front cover of the notebook (here I have used light pink CS.you can use any pattern paper also but I have made my own pattern paper using stamp so that it matches with my theme.I stamped ice-cream image with black Archival ink on light pink CS and  my pattern paper is ready.
STEP - 4 Stick this PP on the front of note book

STEP - 5 Then I have taken white diecut piece using smallest die from oval dual stitched die set and on that I have stamped the sentiment  with black ink,and stuck the water coloured image of ice-cream stamp with foam dots
STEP - 6 Finally highlighted with black colour rhinestones and given stitched boarder all around using black marker pen.
N.B: If your notebook binding is thicker and bigger in size then covering with CS will not work ,it will open up from the hinge or binding parts. With bigger and thicker notebook or Diary we need to cover both front n back( leaving hinge part )..with CS and then hing part or binding part we have to cover with separate piece of CS or with binding tape or decorate sides with laces.Process can be vice versa also like hinge part can be covered first n then front n back ..depending on your designs

PROJECT #2 Altered phone book

In this project ...my phone diary is in dark green colour so I don't need to cover it with CS..only I have layered it with pearl cream card stock, then black and finally I have distressed layer. For distress layer I have used  distress inks -shabby shutter ,scattered straw, peeled paint, chipped sapphire. Then misted with water using very fine spray bottle.Dried immediately with heat gun.Again misted with perfect pearl mist spray to get pearly misted look. Then used Graceful lattice die cut in white,on that I have used Oval dual stitched die cut frame which I have used as  photo frame with vintage photo...Finally to decorate oval frame I have used stamped layered Dahlias and leaves..used word INSPIRE die cut in black n decorated with metal charms in all four corners and a dragonfly using E6000

Peek-A-Tute Day : Desktop Quotation Display !!

Hello Crafty souls.. ..Its Vijaylaxmi here & today i am sharing a Tutorial on making a "Desktop Quotation Display"

Steps on How to make this -

  • Stamps i used here - (From Previous & Latest Releases)

  • Material Needed - Chipboard, Pattern Paper, Card Stock, Paper Cutter, Binder Rings, Glue, Embellishments to Decorate.
  • Cut A Window with the help of cutter on two chipboard pieces.

  • Like this. You can cut as per your size requirement.

  • So after cutting & punching ..the chipboard will be like the same as in below picture -

  • Now cover the Chipboard pieces with 12*12" Pattern Paper of your choice. I took a neutral colored background paper.

  • Cut a "X" slit in the window so that we can fold the paper backward & window can appear neatly. (See the above pic)
  • Now the whole stand will look like this.
  • As we already punched the Chipboard so now its easy to poke holes again after covering with Pattern paper.

  • I stamped the Gorgeous Nysaa on different pattern papers to form its beautiful dress & colored the upper body with water color pencils.
  • Put this pretty girl on side panel of this desktop stand with the help of 3D foam Tape. I just love the way she is blushing ;)
  • Then added a mdf fence.

  • Decorate it as per your choice ..i used Mulberry Flowers & handmade Flowers (RAK From Pooja ).
  • Also used Pie Lane butterflies & Some Sequins.
  • Then with the help of binder Rings i added my quotations .
  • All the quotations are from "Positive Vibes Stamp Set" ..Our latest Release & a Must have stamp set..:)

  • You can add as many quotations you want & can flip it on daily basis for your daily motivational dose :p

Yay..we are done !!

Have a great day !!

Magnetic Bookmark @ Peek-a-Tute

Hello Everyone, hope everyone has glanced through our latest collection and release. Are they not " MUST HAVE" :):):)

Anyways today I have a cute tute on Magnetic Bookmark. I have used some old and new stamps from the collections.

1. Gather your Supplies. I am using 2 stamp set from the collection

 2. Stamp all the cute , small elements from the set that you choose and color them. I have used Distress ink to color them and used my Sharpie to darken the eyes and tale :)

3. Cut some strips of any CS which should be smaller in size than the stamped image.
Also cut equal/smaller size magnetic strip. I have used square magnetic sheet that I sourced from Amazon. You can use any.

4. And the result are these cuties. See to it that the strips are not bigger than the image.

Now over to my bonus project. I have made a set of note card using the last months set.

Hope you like it and also looking forward for your crafty take on our challenge this month.

You can find all the details here.
