Damask delights - Project ideas

Hello! ^__^

Having Monday blues? Well I hope this post brightens your day and cheers you up because today I have project ideas! Yeah, something for everybody!

I'm Halak and today's post features the super pretty and versatile Damask stamp set which is a part of March 2016 stamp release by Peek-a-boo Designs (PABD).

Before we get on with projects, here's the complete list of stamps and card stock that I used :

Stamps :
1. Damask
2. Lily Hope and,
3. Bold You

Cardstock :
1. Black (For ATC base)
2. White Sand Texture (For Card base)

This card that you see above is Project #1.

I love the fact that the damask set has solid images, (I am a very lazy colorist) and it takes ink really well.
You must have seen the stunning post by our DT member Vijaylaxmi, wherein she made a beautiful pattern paper using the damask set.
If you haven't seen it, click -- Here

Now I'm going to go through a few other fun ways to use this set.

In this project, I wanted a mixed damask look because... come on..
asymmetrical is sometimes super fun!

So I stamped a mixed bunch of damask designs in pale pink dye ink, added a sentiment from Lily Hope set and some butterfly punch-outs + sequins.

You can see the close-up of the mix damask designs in pale pink ink here :

Crisp and gorgeous impression! Gotta love that!

By now the symmetry lovers must be going like whaaat...

I have a project idea just for you guys...

Boom! Check out this envelope :

Project #2

A damask shape, inked up and stamped across the edge of the envelope for a border.

Added some rhinestones and pearls with a healthy splash of glitter (you can use wink of stella / stickles / sparkle as a substitute) and there you have it!

One classy envelope with the lace effect going on because of that damask... trust me, the recipient will be mighty impressed.

So, as you can see, this set looks great with random damask shapes stamped as abstract or a single damask shape stamped in sync.

Close up :

What after symmetry, you ask?

Let's go with a curve!

Project #3

This mixed-media style ATC has that gorgeous damask curve running through it which makes it very striking to look at.

How did I do this?

Simple. Took my round box lid in which I store my crafting tools, and with that drew a curve lightly onto stenciled background.

Mounted damask stamp onto block, inked and stamped the little damask away.

Once the curve was done, I erased the line.

Here's a better look at it :

The sentiment for this ATC is from the Bold You stamp set.

Bonus Tip :

What else can you do with damask?

I am thinking shapes, squares, rectangles, zig-zags etc.

Go make a crazy colorful mandala using this and use your geometry box to make concentric circles as guides for stamping!

Fun, right? :D

So you see, the only limitation is your imagination! Get this set, sit with some inks and get crafting! No other stress buster like it!

Hope you liked my post and thank you so much for stopping by! :) I'd love to know what you think! *Hugs*

Peek-a-Tute Friday - Stationery Box !!

Hello Blogger pals..How you all are doing ?? Shalu here to share a Pictorial with all of you !! This is the second tutorial post of the day & i hope u really enjoyed the previous post by DT Manu !!
Ohh ..Sorry i forget to mention that from this month on-wards our Team mates will post a pictorial every Friday & hence we named it "Peek-a-Tut Friday" !! Hope you are enjoying The challenges & Tutorials so far & will enjoy all future posts too :)
So now to my Tutorial -

I Made a Stationery Box and Used the most beautiful n versatile stamp "the Damask" Set!! Here you go -

I Used Peek-a-boo Design's Black Card stocks which is very very sturdy & good for making albums n boxes of all sorts !! Also Used White Textured card Stock for stamping (as a Pattern Paper) Though this one is also very sturdy n having 300 gsm but i loved the textures & its good for stamping too !!The Rose Gold Card Stock from which I Made the Bow N Hearts is just awesome !! Do check out all the Card Stocks & Stamps Here!!

Enjoy the pictorial in which I mentioned all the dimensions but feel free to adjust them as per your needs.
and if you have any query do ask me through comments here ..i would love to answer !! :)

>> Take a 12*12 " Card Stock !! Score all along as per directions in pictures.

>> For Lid dimensions are given. Also see how i created my own pattern paper using Damask Set.

>> Paste all the cut pieces of pattern paper to decorate the box !!

So guys i think i didn't bored you much & you really liked this attempt of Mine ?
Dont go away ...i am sharing a bonus tutorial too ---- yes this full post is picture heavy ..so just relax n watch it !! ;)

Card - 1 : As Holi is near so i thought to share a colorful Holi Card using " Holi Hai " Stamp set from Peek-a-boo Designs India !!
I Used a little bit of masking technique here . Let the pictures say all --

For finishing touch ups I added some colorful sequins which is my latest obsession ;)

Card -2 :  For this card i Used Jennifer McGuire's Over lap Stamping using " It's Plaid Time Stamp" from Peek-a-boo Designs India !! This stamp is also very very versatile & in so much trend!! We can create our own pattern papers with it !! I used Colorbox Pigment Inks for stamping. Firstly choose a point from where you wanna start your stamping ..i choose the top most corner so can reduce the chances of mistakes ;) Then keep on stamping in the same diagonal position with different colored inks.... .& while stamping further, just keep a single thing in mind that we need to overlap the previous stamped strip a little bit & when we do the same ..the two ink will give a very cool n beautiful effect after mixing with each other.

See the steps --

Added some Heat Embossed Lotus From " Lotus Delight" Stamp Set and the Sentiment from Latest released Mini Stamp " Pixie Dust " .For final touch up added heart shaped stones from my stash !! See how colorful n classic it is looking !!

Card - 3 : Haww...finally the last one :p For this Card I again used " It's Plaid Time Stamp" from Peek-a-boo Designs India to build my background..this time i used solid wide strip as well diagonal strips stamps to create this beautiful n very colorful background with Pigment inks !!

Have a look at the steps --

To complete the card i used " Be Good Mini Stamp Set " .Added some paper flowers and tiny heart shaped stones to finish it up !! Keep it as much simple as i could and i really loved the whole process of background building !!

I hope You Enjoyed this whole post & Please do not forget to participate in this Month's Challenge - Rainbow With Cloud : Create a Set !!

Hugs --

The Festival of colors - HOLI

Hello Everyone!!!

This is Manu. Yes, you guessed it right, this post is all about the Festival of colors: HOLI!!!
Holi is just around the corners and what best way to add some personal touch to your holi festivities than adding a dash of Handmade to it!! Handmade sure brings out the best in the greetings across India!

I'm very happy that there are finally some stamps that cater to the Indian festivals!!! Truly 'Made in India' and 'Made for Indians' !! I'm totally in love with the Holi stamp set launched by Peek-a-boo!! The total series consists of a 4*6 stamp set and 2 mini sets!! Total fun and a sureshot funfilled way to make cards and share them with your loved ones!!! You can find all the stamps at the Peek-a-boo store here. Go, checkout some really nice stuff that's all made in India!!! This stamp company is very promising and I'm sure there will be lots of new, fun stamps coming all the way from the team!!

Here's what I made!!!

It's a set of 4 mini cards along with tags!!! As Holi is around the corner, I thought of making some cute cards for my little one's school folks!!!

I have a little tutorial also about how I went making some of the cards in this series!!

Lets check out one by one!! I almost made the tags in sync with the cards that I did!

The card is easy peasy and for the tag, I first stamped the sentiment from the stamp in the middle as in the below pic.

Once done, I thought of putting the hand impression stamp in a round manner around the sentiment, hence, using washi tape as the circular thing, I drew a little circle around the sentiment and then proceeded too stamp using various memento and the altenew inks!

I totally love the splatter one on these itty bitty cute cards!!!

For the card, I took different colored inks along with the splatter stamp piece from the set and stamped randomly on the cardstock!! Once I was satisfied with the color all across, I stamped the sentiment and placed it with some foam tape to add a 3D look!
The splatter on the tag was done similarly!!!

The H O L I alphabets on the hand impression stamp are embossed with black ranger EP, and the sentiment is from another stamp set!! The first ever HINDI stamp set. If you are a lover of making cards and handing them out to friends and family and want the sentiments to be in Hindi, this stamp set is a must have!!!! You can checkout the All-occasion stamp set here.
This tag is one of my favorite one!!!

I used the all Occasion stamp set and used the word HOLI from the set!! Stamped this multiple times on the cardstockk to make my background. I then stamp the hindi stamp set on another cardstock and adhered it to the base panel made. Added a few colorful splatters and voila!! I'm done!!!

Here are my tags and cards again!!!
I do hope you will like these pretties and these 3 sets are a must have for all the card makers!!!

I'm sure gonna make some more of these lovely ones and gift them to my family and friends!!!
Do checkout the current challenge here which is to make a set!!! be it anything!
I have made the cards along with the tags!!
Read all about the challenge here.

Do let me know how did you find my take on the holi cards and tags!! Do make a handful using these pretties!!!

Happy Crafting!!
Manu

You will get a varied collection of this amazing Indian Festival stamps specially the holi ones.

So here's what I made using this beautiful stamp set from here.

My first project is a treat bag and its made from kraft CS and  the background that you see is all made from the stamp collection.

The buckets are the cute little stamps , I just loved working with this collection.

My next project is a CAS card for Holi again. I am sure no one has seen shades in balloons but yeah lets sprinkle some colors, after all its Holi, the festival of colors.

And wonder where those strings from , its Peek-a-boo again!

My last project is again a gift bag but this one is a altered one. ( No I would not say Altered cause I created the front panel of this bag along with the theme)

We all want to give some gifts or the other in this colorful event coming soon and what an idea if your treat bags are matching with the occasion.

We have the current challenge up on the blog and its fun and colorful this time. As usual we love to see some beautiful creations so whats the wait for.

Some key takeaways of this post

If you notice carefully all my projects today have a self made background. All our stamps have those elements present with which you can create your own custom background which will be unique and different. So for sure give it a try, it creates wonders :).

Journaling with Nysaa at Peek-a-tut

Hello Friends ,
I am Sharada Dilip here today yet again with an Pictorial !

I am here to share my art journal today
Art journals are at rage these days and with the newest stamp releases at Peek-a-boo this month I couldn't resist but go ahead with creating this First page !

I wanted my page to reflect me, my love for colours and creations !
So I choose to go with my favourite colour combinations with distress paints and acrylic paints .

I created a mix and match background, keeping in mind happy go lucky feel !

I added the stamps from the Damask set  which has 15 different designs !

After random application I went ahead to add in sentiments and words I wanted on the page !
This is like a constant reminder to me to keep going !! This is really what artists need a positive vibe to keep on whenever we loose mojo to work and it happens frequently :)

I have used splashes from Holi Hai stamp set totally gives the needed texture look.

I totally love this stamp set Nysaa  !!
I have layered her dress with pattern paper and coloured her with water colours.

Totally love the way the page turned out!
Hope you liked the Peek -a -tut today

Stamps used here -
       Holi haibold you

Thanks for stopping by and do not forget to participate in the ongoing challenge # 4 of this month !!
